I have been thinking for a long time about what my first blog post could be and I just couldn’t decide, so my first post will simply be general and introduce myself to you.
I’m Peter, I’m from Esslingen (Germany) and I work as a system engineer at SVA.
On my blog I would like to share news, innovations and how-tos from the world of IT with a specialization in backup, servers, storage and virtualization.
It was already clear to me at school that I would enter the world of IT. After leaving school, I decided to start an apprenticeship as an IT specialist for system integration at a small systems integrator company at Nürtingen.
Right from the start, I worked directly with customers on site and in the office. However, as I wanted to specialize more in the area of storage (NetApp), backup (Veeam) and virtualization (VMware), I decided to move to another systems integrator company at Metzingen after a while.
After 2 years, I was interested in what it was like to sit on the customer side, so I switched to an internal position and worked there for 4 years with a wide-ranging field from all areas of infrastructure.
In 2023, I decided to switch back to the project business and to a system integrator company. Since 2023 I have been working again as a system engineer for backup (Veeam + Rubrik), storage and virtualization (VMware) at SVA System Vertrieb Alexander. During this time I was able to carry out many interesting and exciting projects again.
In addition to my passion for IT, I also enjoy sports and cooking.
Now that you know a little bit about me and you’ve read this far (I hope I haven’t bored you completely), the upcoming posts will be more technical 😊
